DQOD - Catching up March 28-30

Sorry for not posting over the weekend, we did our "spring/getting ready to Disney/inlaws are coming" cleaning and fell into bed each night exhausted.

I was thinking about Saturday. Based on the assumption that Stokes and Jehns will be arriving between say 2ish and 6ish I wanted to come up with some ideas that would be flexible for when everyone arrives. What you do you think about these options (or some combination thereof):

1) Head to Downtown Disney and have dinner at Planet Hollywood to take advantage of the 15$ off coupons we have for each of the rooms. Then we can play at Downtown Disney and get the Disney feel without having to enter the parks specifically. There are also other places to eat but most are more expensive although there are a couple cheaper options (including a Sandwich place and MdDs). Planet Hollywood is a sit down restaurant so they won't take our Dining Plan. Here is the menu.

2) Eat at one of the hotels (using our Dining Plan for counter service) and then heading over to go mini-golfing. We have 3 coupons for golfing (so 3 adults would be free). The golfing is a wee bit expensive: 12.52 for adults and 10.39 for 9 and under.

In either scenario we could start or finish with some swimming, but then get to bed reasonably early so we can be up and at Magic Kindom when it opens on Sunday!!!!!

(An alternate idea is just eating and swimming--which is always a hit with my kids!)

  2. I would vote for doing the dinner at Downtown. First because we all have to eat. Second, because we have a combined $45 toward the total bill. Third, it might be harder to use these coupons later in the week because we might be more interested in staying at whatever park we are at then running over to Disney Village. Fourth, I hate not to use the coupons - and fifth, it you all promise not to get the top of the menu and use your coupons, it might be possible for Mr. Bill and Neena to pick up the tab.
